This is the website for the American Military History Podcast. My mission is to honor the men and women who have served our great country and to tell history┬áthrough the eyes of military men and women. 554_tnStarting with the Revolutionary war we’ll cover military engagements through present day, as well as taking a few stops along the way to learn about the history of each of the branches of the American Military (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, etc…)

Why is the American Flag backwards in your logo/podcast art?

This is a great question and one that I get asked quite alot, according to USFlag.org, this is a valid way to display the flag on a uniform. When worn in this manner it simulates the flag flying in the breeze. Another description, which I tend to find more fitting, is that the flag is also displayed in this way to honor those who charge into battle, flying America’s flag. The picture at the right shows the 1st Air Calvary Division displaying colors. As you can see, if a soldier were charging into battle flying the American flag (as they tended to do in the 18th & 19th century) the flag would fly this way.
